Our Services
Step 1: Clinical Evaluation | Step 2: Functional Assessment | Step 3: Therapy Session
Unsure if myofunctional therapy is right for you? Schedule a free 15 minute guidance call.
During the clinical evaluation, which can be completed in person or virtually, we review your intake forms, including your health history and lifestyle habits, listen to your concerns, evaluate your breathing and oral function, identify your needs, and take baseline photographs to document your starting point and track progress over time. For virtual appointments, you will be asked to take your photographs prior to your appointment and will receive a step-by-step guide to help you capture them correctly. Photos should be uploaded at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment so they can be reviewed in advance. This first step allows us to develop a personalized wellness plan designed to improve breathing, sleeping, and overall well-being.
After your clinical evaluation, we will complete a functional assessment which can be done either virtually or in person. Patients who choose virtual sessions are guided through the process. We then evaluate tongue posture, swallowing patterns, nasal breathing, and oral function to identify factors that may be impacting your wellness. These findings guide the development of a personalized therapy plan tailored to your needs.
Each myofunctional therapy session is customized to your individual needs and goals and can be completed either virtually or in person. Prior to your appointment, you will receive a supply kit with the tools needed to complete each exercise. During the session, we practice targeted exercises designed to retrain the muscles of the mouth, tongue, and face to support improved breathing, swallowing, and posture. Patients are provided with a personalized treatment plan and a practice log to track progress between sessions. Therapy sessions can be scheduled at whatever interval is appropriate for your needs, with the average frequency being every one to two weeks. With ongoing guidance, support, and consistent practice, you develop new functional patterns and habits that can support lasting improvements in breathing, swallowing, posture, and overall well-being.
